Just Us Girls Challenge No. 4

When I watched Monas video yesterday about how to make flowers I was hooked. I am not quite sure whether tissue paper is the same what I would call "Seidenpapier" in Germany but anyway it worked. These flowers are the perfect decoration for a flowerpot card.

The flowers are cut out with my cuttlebug using various circles. The centre is made of a tiny button. The flowerpot itself is embossed and shaded with white ink. The leaves are prefabricated veil leafes in varius sizes and colours.

So this is my entry for the fourth Just Us Girls Challenge:

I did it!

I did my first "Draw Card". I found somewhere in internet the instruction for a draw card (forgot where!). I have seen those cards a couple of times but I never revealed the miracle of the technique behind. I took me one and a half hour to create the basic card! I was ranting and raving about the technique till a had the flash of inspiration and openting up the card hundeds of times..

But now see the result:

Just us Girls Challenge!

This colour challenge came just at the right time. I was desperately seaching for a colour scheme for my receipe card swap. And then I saw the colours red, white and aqua. And there was the idea! Thank you girls for this inspiration.

This is what I made out of it!

Supplies:
  • Circle Punch - Stampin' up
  • Branch Punch - Martha Stewart
  • 2 snwoflake Punches - manufacturer unknown
  • Coloured cardstock - SU
  • Shimmering paper
  • Thread
  • Pearls
  • Rhinestones

What you can't really see from the picture the receipe is written in red colour! It just looks perfect!
Thanks for looking!

Just for those interested in the receipe. Here it is in full:

Vanilla Almond Kipferl

For the dough:
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar (or equivalent of vanilla flavor)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of finely ground almonds
1 cup of (soft) butter or margarine

Additionally:
Powdered sugar for dredging
Plastic wrap
Baking paper:

Preparation:
Produce a homogenous dough (either by hand or with help of dough hooks) of all the dough ingredients. Wrap the dough into plastic wrap and put into the fridge (at least one hour).

Take the dough out and knead it quickly. Then form rolls approx. 2 1/2 inches long with a diameter of approx. 1/2 inch. Place them in a crescent shape on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Leave enough space between the individual cresents because they tend to expand during the baking process.

Bake the crescents in the pre-heated oven at approx. 350° F for 15 to 18 minutes. Please observe them carefully gey get burnt very easily!

Dredge them with powderes sugar when still warm!

Store them in a tin or plastic box and enjoy!

Bella o Bella!

I created this box as a present. It contained sweets and a gift card for some personal shopping wishes!

Mojo Monday!

This week I had some time to participate at the Mojo Monday Contest!

The Template:
And my implementation:

The christmas ornament in the centre is hanging and can be turned and twisted and is fixed with a decorative thread. The necessary hole was cut out with the cuttlebug.

The paper is a free download from the UK Magazine Paper Craft Inspiration embellised with pearls and stickles.

Other supplies: breads, ribbon, rhinestone, stickles, pearl maker.

Another Itty Bitty Betty Box!

I sold all my three boxes which I published during the last month! So I had to make a new one!

I used the digi stamps from Pink Cat Studio - Itty Bitty Betty - Ladybug! The shapes and circles are produced with nestabilities and the cuttlebug.
Itty Bitty Betty is coloured with copics and decorated with stickles, pearl maker and butterflies from the Martha Steward Butterfly Punch.
I also used paper flowers and rhinestones as well a white organza ribbon with a heart edge and an orange pepita ribbon! Some of the butterflies and flowers are decorated with stickles to give the whole a shimmering touch!
