Time for a new Challenge!

It's a long time ago since I have updated my blog. But as you know holidays, school and everythings else is so time-consuming that there was litterally no time left for crafting.

But now I am back with hopefully loads of new things to see! I have a couple of ideas in my head. So we will see!

So let's start with one of my favourite challenges - Just us Girls! This week's task was to use a template.
I used the template I found in the British magazine "Papercraft Inspirations". The link is here.
The templates are to be found on sheets 7 and 8.

And this is my inspiration out of it. I also created a little post-it note holder made of coasters in the matching design. The size of the bag holds easily a CD cover!

Supply list:
  • White cardstock
  • Designer paper from Cosmo Cricket
  • Red velvet ribbon
  • Felt flower
  • Rhinestones and half pearls
  • Paper flowers
Thanks for looking! I really love hearing/reading your comments!

It's a long time ago since I have participated in the Just Us Girls Challenge. When I saw this week's colors scheme I thought yes - this is my thing.

So, this is my card. Unfortunately the colors are a bit light and the photograph does not bring out the sparkle properly.

Supply list:

  • Image: hero arts colored with copics, decorated with liquid pearls and stickles
  • Cardstock: SU
  • Designer paper: Tilda and basic grey
  • Half pearls
  • Ribbon also Tilda

The sentiments are inside the card.

Thanks for looing and leaving comments!

Just Us Girls Challenge

Busy times lay behind me where there was no time for crafting. Anyway this is my entry for the JUG Challenge with the task - embossing.

This is a tiny card (about 3 x 3 inches) where you can stick in a litte post it note. I am currently fallen in love with this format because I think it is so nice to give somebody maybe a note or a telephone number so nicely wrapped.

Supply list:
  • Image: Mini Magnolia from the fairy collection colored with copics
  • Punches from SU emobossed with the polka dot cuttlebug folder
  • Ribbon
  • Paper from Rayher
  • Stickles

Thanks for looking!

Just Us Girl Challenge No. 24

This week's JUG Challenge was a Flap Card. Following the tutorial I was hooked by this type of card. As I recently purchased the delicate backround paper (it's made from a shining transparent fibre) I had to make this winter card. As the temperature outside here is still more winter than spring I thought it does not matter to create a christmas card in spring.
So here it is:
Supply list:
Digi image from Pink Cat Studio colored with copics
Backround paper is a fibre material
Varios snowflake punches with silver half pearls
Ribbon
Cardstock from SU

The snow hills at the bottom of the card is the flap. They are layed using dimensionals. Unfortunately you can't see the 3-D effect! The edges are sponged with blue ink.

Just Us Girls Challenge No. 19

Another weekend - another Just Us Girls Challenge.

This time I used one of my favourite images from Stamping Bella: Partygirlbella. I tried a new technique which I always admire - the way you girls color the backround. I am not a 100% happy with the result. I need more practice. But the way seems to be right. Sponging the backroud with ink.

As usual Bella is colored with copics and embellished with stickles. The littel hearts around the scallops are usually used to decorate finger nails. But as they are so tiny they just work perfect as stamping embellishment.

Cardstock is from SU; the designer paper is "Pretty please" from My mind's eye.

Sorry gils I forgot the thrid circle. I printed the template in black and white and it was not visble. Hope it counts nevertheless!

Thanks for looking!

Just Us Girls Challenge No. 17

This week I was again inspired the the JUG Challenge. So I tried the new free Cutesy Cover template from
My Time Made Easy
This time I chose the colors apple green, burgundy and white/vanilla.

So here is my Cutesy Cover.

As I had my sewing machine unpacked because I finished a quilt for my daughter I tried machine stitiching as an embellisment. The top flap and the sides are embroidered with my sewing machine. The butterfly is a die for my cuttlebug!

Hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

Just Us Girls Challenge No. 8

This is my this week's entry for the Just Us Girls Challenge No. 8. I needed a nice wrapping tea lights with a delicious vanilla fragrance. As the lights do already have a gingerbread man on top I repeated this in the complete design of the card.

The blue is definitely not the right color as pre-set in the challenge but this type of blue as cardstock is very difficult to get in Germany. The only blue I can think of is from SU - and unfortunately I run out of it.

So this is my result.

I embossed parts of the card with the polka dots folder of the cuttlebug. The image is from Pink Cat Studio. The gingerbread stamps are from a discount supermarket. But they do not look "cheap" at all!

Just Us Girls Week 7

Today it is time for some posts. I have been creative the last couple of days.

This week's taks for the Just Us Girls Challenge was to use the Cuttlebug or similar. I created some gift tags using my Cuttlebug with nestabilities and digi stamps from Pink Cat Studio.

Here they are:

Just Us Girls No. 6 - Part 3

And last but not least - me entry for the challenge. I was so much inspired by the color scheme of my boys so adopted it.

The backround of the card is embossed. For this reason I created my own embossing plate for my cuttlebug using cardstock and snwoflake punches. You can hardly see it on the photo but the snowflakes are colored with chalk and aditional smaller snowflakes are sticked on top using dimensionals.

The image is "Christmasmartini" from Stamping Bella. The paper is a free download print-out from the UK "Papercrafts inspiration" Magazine.

Thanks for stopping by!

And this is Philipp's result:

I believe Philipp would be thrilled to receive one or the other comment!

Just Us Girls Challenge No. 6 - Part 1

Today I started a big experiment. My twin boy (9 years old) are very fond of my "Bellas" how they call my stamping passion. As they needed a reward I promised that they could use all my stamping stuff to create a card.
To give them guideline I used the Just Us Girls Challenge as a template.

This is the result of Constantin:

I am so proud of the respectable result that I promised to publish the cards on my blog in the internet and to link them to the Just Us Girls Challenge. Each with a own comment section!

So if you leave a comment for them they would certainly be over the moon!

Just Us Girls Challenge No. 4

When I watched Monas video yesterday about how to make flowers I was hooked. I am not quite sure whether tissue paper is the same what I would call "Seidenpapier" in Germany but anyway it worked. These flowers are the perfect decoration for a flowerpot card.

The flowers are cut out with my cuttlebug using various circles. The centre is made of a tiny button. The flowerpot itself is embossed and shaded with white ink. The leaves are prefabricated veil leafes in varius sizes and colours.

So this is my entry for the fourth Just Us Girls Challenge:

Just us Girls Challenge!

This colour challenge came just at the right time. I was desperately seaching for a colour scheme for my receipe card swap. And then I saw the colours red, white and aqua. And there was the idea! Thank you girls for this inspiration.

This is what I made out of it!

Supplies:
  • Circle Punch - Stampin' up
  • Branch Punch - Martha Stewart
  • 2 snwoflake Punches - manufacturer unknown
  • Coloured cardstock - SU
  • Shimmering paper
  • Thread
  • Pearls
  • Rhinestones

What you can't really see from the picture the receipe is written in red colour! It just looks perfect!
Thanks for looking!

Just for those interested in the receipe. Here it is in full:

Vanilla Almond Kipferl

For the dough:
2 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon vanilla sugar (or equivalent of vanilla flavor)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 cup of finely ground almonds
1 cup of (soft) butter or margarine

Additionally:
Powdered sugar for dredging
Plastic wrap
Baking paper:

Preparation:
Produce a homogenous dough (either by hand or with help of dough hooks) of all the dough ingredients. Wrap the dough into plastic wrap and put into the fridge (at least one hour).

Take the dough out and knead it quickly. Then form rolls approx. 2 1/2 inches long with a diameter of approx. 1/2 inch. Place them in a crescent shape on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Leave enough space between the individual cresents because they tend to expand during the baking process.

Bake the crescents in the pre-heated oven at approx. 350° F for 15 to 18 minutes. Please observe them carefully gey get burnt very easily!

Dredge them with powderes sugar when still warm!

Store them in a tin or plastic box and enjoy!
